Wellington Health Care Alliance

Building on a strong alignment of common interests and with years of positive relationship already in place, the Wellington Health Care Alliance was formed in October 2005 as an administrative alliance.

This administrative alliance between North Wellington Health Care Corporation (with hospitals in Palmerston and Mount Forest) and the Groves Memorial Community Hospital (located in Centre Wellington) continues to offer considerable promise for identifying creative ways in which to enhance patient care and safety.

Working together, under a single senior management team, provides greater critical mass which in turn helps the Alliance with:

  • recruitment of key health care professionals;
  • facilitates sharing of expertise and specialized equipment and resources;
  • allows the Alliance to develop proposals for a new rural health services for Centre and North Wellington;
  • and also ensures that we have a strong, consistent voice for rural health care.

Sharing administrative and support costs over a larger organizational platform leads to greater operational efficiency and sustainability.

With the two corporate structures supported on an ongoing basis by volunteer boards, foundations, and auxiliary/volunteer associations, patient care services to each community continues to be the focus of this strong rural hospital team.
